Children's Mental Health Week

This week, our school proudly celebrated Children’s Mental Health Week, focusing on this year’s theme which is 'This is My Place' focusing on 'belonging'. We talked about all the different groups that we belong to: our family, our school, our football, camogie and sports clubs, our local community, and our World.

As a recognised Take 5 School, we explored each of the five steps—Give, Connect, Be Active, Keep Learning, and Take Notice—through

meaningful activities designed to build confidence, resilience, and positive mental health.

A special highlight was hearing from our P7 School Councillors, who delivered important messages during assembly. They explained the theme of the week, shared strategies for supporting mental wellbeing, and encouraged everyone to take small, daily steps to look after themselves and one another.

We also enjoyed a vibrant Dress to Express Day, where pupils arrived dressed in a wonderful variety of colourful, imaginative, and expressive outfits. The individuality on show was fantastic from football kits to tutus and princess dresses, we loved it all!
